Question:

Help Needed. Baby Names For A Girl?

by Guest56402  |  earlier

I'm looking for some baby girl names. I'm quite 'picky' and I am looking for some names that fill these requirements. :)

I want something classical, but not old-fashioned.

Something unique, but not over the top.

Something special, but not 'over-used'.

I want something that will suit her, right from baby, to being an adult.

Something that if it is long, it can be shortened.

Something that isn't a mouthful.

Thats it really. I'm very grateful for any suggestions, and I would maybe like to know the meanings of the name suggested, but that isn't necessary. I'm sorry if I seem over picky, but naming a baby is very special, as it's the baby's identity so I want something fitting. I'm not pregnant at the moment, but I want to be prepared for when it does happen.

Thanks for any suggestions. Em. x

  21. I think one beautiful name that (for the most part) fits your description is the name Rosalie. It's such a classic name but it's deffinitly not old-fashioned. It's very unique and not at all over-used but still at the same time very beautiful. It can be shortened to Rose or Rosy and as she gets older she can be called by Rosalie. I don't think it's a mouthful. Also, the meaning is Rose in French.

    Hope that was helpful!

  22. My three favorite names are:

    Lorelai Rose

lorelai means   Murmuring rock. It refers to a murmuring sound that can be heard in the vicinity of the Lorelei (a rock in the Rhine river) as a result of the strong currents, a waterfall, and the echoing effect of the rock wall. This sound, although difficult to hear today as a result of urbanization, may also have given rise to tales of a singing maiden on the rock.

    Delilah Grace

    Delilah means Amorous, delight

    Victoria Jane

**Lorelai can also be spelled Lorelei, Loralei and is a very classical elegant name.  Good luck!

  29. I am expecting baby number four, second girl for us.Our first daughters name is Ashlyn,I tend to call her Ash. Our idea for the daughter we are now expecting is Rachel. We feel this is a name that is constant, not a trendy name that is hot one minute and out the next. It is slightly old-fashioned, it is Biblical, but not a name that is easily shortened. Hope this helps.
