Hello,

I bought a DivX enabled DVD player, and have burned lots of movies (avi's) to DVD as data discs using windows Vista. But when I try to play then the player makes lots of noise and then cannot read disc. All the reviews from previous customers have raved about the ease of use for this dvd player, and how it plays anything thrown at it: DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, CD-R's etc. and how it can play avi's burned straight on to a disc.

What am I doing wrong??!

Help much appreciated

  1. .avi's are just containers for video files. You need to make sure the .avi was *encoded* using Divx.
