Help! No Power to Hitachi Projection TV

Hitachi Projection TV Model Number 43GX10B. TV was in great condition with a little hazing in corners. I turned it off to

go to bed one night and next morning it wouldn't turn on. I unplugged it, plugged it back in (it made a noise that sounded like power going to it, kind of like a flash on a camera charging up), then the light on the front blinks red one time and then I can't do anything else. If I unplug it and then wait and plug it back in, the same thing always happens. Any ideas what the problem could be? The local TV repairman wants 100 bucks just to come look at it.

Probably have a bad regulator i.c and a couple of bad capacitors in the power supply. Very common problem with this model. Typical repair cost in-home for this type of repair averages ~250-300 with the trip charge plus labor and parts
