  1. Cameolons=BAD they are super hard to take care of,try Anoles they cost 10 dollars.

  2. A couple geckos!

  3. i would advise to get something other than a lizard.  they are not friendly, they hate to be held and they sleep during the day and putter around at night.

we purchased a geeko ($35), caging, heater, housing, water bowl, crickets, meal worms, etc. ($100) and the little sucker lasted about a month. we accidently fed him crickets that were too large for him to digest (not too large to EAT but just digest) so the poor thing couldn't pass it, i bathed it in warm water and massaged it's tummy for four days (three times a day) until the poor thing finally passed away. i hate to say it but i was glad when it did.  my daughter, a HUGE animal lover was freaked out by the geeko. beleive me, we were gentle, gave it its space, made it comfortable, didn't touch it for two weeks after buying and all that other stuff, even though, the little guy was still very UNFRIENDLY.

If I were you, I'd get a rat! They are friendly, loving, smart and much more interactive.

Good luck and hope this helps!

  4. I would buy a leopard gecko. They make awesome pets and are easy to care for.  Buying a chameleon would be a bad idea for a first lizard. They are more expensive and very hard to care for. I know they are cool but it would be best to wait until you have had more experience owning lizards.

  5. No, for a starter pet a chameleon would not be good. First they stress very easily and cannot be handled much.  They are more of a show pet, and need very specific humidity and temp requirements that can't be messed with. I am including a list of some lizards for you to do more research on--try Google or Yahoo search--most stay small (under a foot) and can be in either a 20 gallon long or 30 gallon tank for the entire life and can be held. Most will cost under $100 for the lizard and you will need to add about another $100-200 for everything else needed-lights, substrate, tank, cover, water dish, thermometer, humidity indicator, hide.

    Spiny crevice lizard

    leopard gecko

    leopard lizard

    armadillo lizard

    blue spiny lizard

    collared lizard

  6. Well, chameleons are kind of hard to take care of.

I have two leapord geckos and I have had them for about 5 years and I really like them. I have one male and one female. The male will let me pick him up without a fight but the female will sometimes wiggle around and then calm down after a second. But if you hold them enough they will get used to you holding them and wont mind it a bit. The most expensive thing that you will have to buy is the cage and all of the accesories but I think that in the end it's all worth it. Ask  the pet store clerks what size of crickets you need to get for the gecko and then get that size.

    Good luck

    Hope I helped :)

  7. Lizards are not meant to be kept as pets. You should by one and let it go into its natural habitat.

If you insist on getting one you should educate yourself on how to care for it. You should also get more than one if you get a social lizard. Don't just ask the store owner, do your own research as well.
