I have been feeling as if my right ear is stuffy and now the right side of my jaw hurts..I used to get real bad headaches and dizziness but both symptoms seem to have subsided all of sudden. I have been to my primary doctor who referred me to a neurologist and cardiologist. I have had MRI of brain, blood work, hearing test,echo-cardiogram,multiple EKG's,and was sent home with a heart monitor for a month...And everything seems to be fine other then I'am anemic. But I have been to the ER twice with my right ear hurting and they tell me that nothing is wrong. Could this be my teeth(infection)? I have an appt. next week with Ear Nose Throat doctor but should I go see a dentist? I'am sorry this is so long but I just don't know what to do. Thanks

  1. Sound's like an ear infection to me, I'd say middle ear infection.

  2. YOU GRIND YOUR TEETH AT NIGHT...not even kidding

  3. I'M SORRY BUT TO ME THIS SOUNDS LIKE A TOOTH INFECTION MAYBE YOUR WISDOM TEETH HAVE THOSE CAME OUT YET? WELL GOOD LUCK JUST GARGLE WITH SALT AND WATER AND PEROXICED UNTILL SEEN IT'LL HELP IT NOT GET WORSE GOOD LUCK

  4. I had the exact same thing...including the anemia.  They put me through the same series of tests and doctors.  Turned out that sometimes people with anemia crave and chew ice.  Which I did. I also seem to grit my teeth at night. And it caused TMJ.  Look into that. I hope its that simple for you.

  5. i had the same thing happen to me, you should go to the dentist & have your teeth checked out.  I needed a rootcanal & a small surgery to fix the problems i had goin on in there.  But right after, it felt so much better.. good luck & i hope you feel better!

  6. it may be what is called inner ear

  7. Hi. You may have a TMJ problem. Ask your doctor about this. Good luck and hope you feel better soon

  8. All the symptoms you described point to TMJ.

It is a disorder of the "jaw hinge".

Causes earaches, headaches, dizziness, face aches, can't open mouth all the way, clicking or locking of the jaw, etc.

Grinding teeth, stress, degenerative jaw bone loss etc.

Some people have to take methadone for the pain.

If you go to revolutionhealth.com it tells you what health professional to see to get help.

    good luck!

  9. I just got over this about a month ago, but it is a middle ear infection, likely because your eardrum ruptured and an infection found its way in there. Did you clean your ear with a Q-tip or something? Avoid it!

The stuffiness and the jaw pain are part of the infection. How to tell? Touch your ear. Pull on the lobe. If it hurts to the touch, then it's an ear infection. If not, touch the place where your jaw ends (around your cheek). If THAT hurts to the touch, you may have TMJ. But trust me, what you have is exactly what I experienced. It's an ear infection. Likely you'll get ear drops and pain medication and it should clear up within a week. But do not stick Q-tips in your ear. That's how mine got infected.
