If the sound is turned on, and you are getting no ring tone, try another phone in the MAIN socket, with anything else you have plugged into the line (fax, sky box, etc) disconnected. If you still do not get the ringing, it time to report it as a fault, if you are with BT then 0800 800 151 is the place to go.

Try checking in Profiles/Settings to make sure it's not switched to silent.

Hi

Unplug all equipment from sockets including sky boxes and modems, and try a phone in the main socket. If that doesn't work, try a different phone. If still no joy, remove the two screws from the lower half of the main BT socket ( assuming it is the usual style main socket), and pull the lower half away from the socket. Any extension wires should be connected to this lower half, and you will see a plug in point which is now revealed. Plug a phone into this point and test it again. If you still have no joy with a couple of phones in this point ( BT refer to it as a "test point") then give them a call.
