Help! Planning wedding in or near Melbourne, need to hire stylish house for own party set up,?

Question

We are a late 30's couple organising a simlple wedding. We would like to organise the catering and music..

We would love to find a great house to hire where all this is possible.. don't mind paying for a lovely place.

Thinking of beach area, or country, or closer to city (Melbourne, VIC Australia.)

If anyone has been to a wedding like this.. any idea's?

Well your previous answers are useless and I feel sorry for you, so I'll try to help out!

I am looking for the exact same thing only I am in Wollongong NSW. So far I have been trawling real estates (since most of those sorts of houses are all registered with them) and you'd be amazed at what you'll find if you send every real estate you can find a generic email stating what exactly you're looking for (how many bedrooms, a room which will seat X amount of people for dinner, a large flat lawn to set up marquee etc.) because these sorts of dwellings are often not advertised on the webpages.

Also start looking up bed and breakfasts, since they mostly self-advertise and won't be with a real estate. Same deal as a rental property really, except it will come with two lovely hosts who will become your part-time wedding coordinators! Hosts of B&Bs usually get quite excited at the prospect of hosting a wedding for a weekend, and will know the local area and suppliers EXTREMELY well. They will also help you find good accommodation for your other guests.

Well, I hoped that helped! It's really hard isn't it, trying to find a wedding venue, but I am hoping my hard work (so far 4 weeks worth!) will pay off and we'll end up with a gorgeous & unique wedding venue with nice lawns and beautiful gardens to party all night long in.

Call realtors around town - they usually handle a lot of rentals. Be prepared to put a hefty deposit down though, because there are a lot of houses where parties and weddings are not allowed.

Have you considered Time Shares? You can pick up some very posh places for very reasonable prices and there are many discount services offering very good deals and service.
