Question:

Help Please! Constipation or not...?

Hey,

So recently it has been difficult for me to make bowel movements. There were a few days maybe 5 where nothing at all happened. For the past few days I have at least passed a bit. I still feel like "blocked" but am unable to get an end result.Is this constipation?

I have a slight pain in my lower stomach (but am expecting my period so I don't know if it is because of that!) and pain in my lower back.

Could this also be because I am thinking too much into it and get tense and somewhat nervous when attempting to go....? Could that be part of the current problem?

The only way I can really explain it is that it feels like I have forgotten how to ...umm...push! ...lol

What can I do to help this? What should I eat? I am a really picky eater! lol

  1. Grape juice, prune juice, oatmeal, greasy foods and exercise all help.

    If you avoid going when you first feel the need, you can get impacted. Always make time to go to the bathroom. Don't hold it for later.


  2. The best thing to do in your situation is to drink A LOT of water and try to get some exercise. Simple walking should be fine. As far as foods to eat, lots of fruits and vegetables. Prunes, plums, peaches, pears are all good. Beans are also good. Stay away from bananas, apples, rice, red meat, cheese as these can be constipating. But the most helpful thing will be the water and exercise.
