Question:

Help Please! Reckless Driving in Virginia?

I was recently pulled over/charged with reckless and careless driving while on the Dulles Airport Road in Virginia. I'm only 16 and I'm wondering what exactly I can do to get rid of this. I have a clean record and I was going 86 in a 55 zone, but my vehicle is old and could be calibrated wrong. How many mph can a speedometer be calibrated wrong? Also, what are the chances that they reduce it to an "improper driving" charge is I take a drivers improvement course, show them my report card, etc.? Also, what are some other things I can do to reduce this punishment?

Thanks,

Matt

Clean record or not, I predict that you will need to have some good walking shoes for at least six months.

  3. It's because people like you that my neighbor got injured from someone who was recklessly driving!!!

  4. No speedometer is that far off. You are going to have to walk for awhile which is good for some one doing 85 in  a 55. You do not even have  a good excuse for a non existent defense.

  5. To be perfectly honest with you..........you live in the worst state to get a speeding ticket or any ticket as a matter of fact.

Your best bet would be to just go to court, dress very nice, be polite and talk with the judge and take what is giving to you and maybe ask if it is possible for you to take a defensive driving class if at possible.

  6. Slow down.
