Help Please. Universal Action Travel Inc...Scam Artists?

Question

I just recieved a letter in the mail saying I owe this company $428.01 I have never even heard of them. The claim my account is delinquent and if I don't pay in 10 days they will add this to my credit rating. I have a great credit rating and don't want it destroyed by this.

I have seen scam reports on this company but nothing to do with this type of thing. It's more that people pay for packages and then have so many blackout dates they end up not being able to use them

What do I do? I am not paying this, I can't afford it and shouldn't have to but I don't want my credit rating destroyed. I planned on buying a house next year and need a good rating for my mortgage!!!

OH and does it make a difference that I'm in Canada and they're based in Florida?

I bought a package from this company and have only used the Florida portion of it, and had a blast. They have never charged me a penny more than what they sold me their package for, and I have checked with the BBB and the State of Florida and everything checks out. Having already partially traveled with them, they are definately a nice company to deal with.

You have to be very concerned these days when a "Travel Agency" I slieing before they are en able to offer service to the customers because if they lie to the parliament or the agencies that rule them then they will not take good care to provide for you what they say they will do and they alrady manipulate th customer to paying some monies they do not owe! everyone in Canada  should be aware that there are companies out there that giv a good service for what you pay. I give a travl for Etour in florida they ar ok but the hotel is not good quality. I choose to not travl them again. this  spring i choose travel with Adventureusa and they give quality rsorts they tell the truth you have no hiding fees it is what they said so far my vacation in Georgia was so nice and i want to go to international tavels they have them etour only had tavel in florida so choose your travel club wisely.
