Help Please Water Slides?

Ok I never had access to a swimming pool as a little kid and I never took classes so I don't know how to swim. My friends and I went to Raging Waters San Dimas last week, it was my first time ever to a water park. I didn't want to be left out or ridiculed by my friends so I went on a ride called the Bermuda Triangle, it wasn't big but I was still nervous. It was pretty fast to the extent that I just wanted it to stop. When I finally hit the water I hit in a vertical position and despite the water being only 3 feet tall I nearly drowned because I fell lying up Face up in the water. I was shaken and I nearly told my friends that I just wanted to stay behind, but I didn't. The trip was great except two times that also happened on this other slide called vortex. Ok to make a long story short how do you properly land in a pool?

PS I also got a headache I think it might have been the chlorine in the water, I saw the some people holding their noses as they fell.

  1. ok if you dive hold your arms straight out in front of you so it breaks up the water(it will hurt like h**l if you dont) jumping in put your body togather like a log straight up and down hold your nose if you dont want water in it

and thats it just for jumping in

  2. You almost drowned because you freaked yourself out. There is no proper way to land..just hold your breathe and fall! Even if someone lands on you in the pool, you cannot drown.Just hold your breathe.

Try landing feet first..that might help keep control.

Don't trip out otherwise you will trip.

And don't be worried next time, Enjoy your freedom!

  3. Maybe you should try wearing or bringing a life jacket. It might be a little embarrassing but you don't wanna drown. If you don't wanna do the rides, it's okay. They're not everyones cup of tea. :/ Your friends should understand and respect yourdecisionn.

In your spare time try being in the water by yourself so you can get used to it. If your in a tube then you would just jump out. If the water is deep then just swim to the surface and try to keep afloat. In a pool, just land with your feet first.

Some people hold their noses so water doesn't get up there when they fall.

  4. it sounds to me that you did a belly flop, I think the best way to land is feet first or you could try a dive. their are two types of dives you could try.

    1. stand up straight with your hands together, the empty space between your head and hands should make a triangle, then bend your knees and hop off but go in the water hands first.

    2. go to the  edge and go into a lunge position make your hands the same as the first dive and lunge into the water.

or you could just try to only go on the rides with tubes.that way you don't need to know how to hit the water
