Question:

Help Please.... my grandmother got me a car because my credit stinks well she has just passed away

now what do i do? do i have to give the car back? If i keep up the payments can I keep it? my uncles do not know she got me the car and would be mad if they did. can they take it from me? I don't know what to do. Any help would be great!

  1. First find out who is the excecutor of the will or her estate is.

    Then talk to them about the car loan. Tell them you have been making the payments.

    Here are the options I can think of:

    1. if the excecutor of the estate is a family member, uncle etc. then they could let you continue paying the loan.

    2. see if you can re-finance the loan into your name.

    3. The car may need to be sold if there are debts to be settled. In this case you will need to give it back.  


  2. As long as you pay the car payment, the car is yours.  Unless she signed away the rights of the car to someone else prior to her passing.
