Help! :) Please.?

Question

Now I know how long it will take to be a captain of a ship. I need some information about how to become an officer. Not millitary, but just to go on cruises or something. Please!

go to one of the merchant marine academies.  kings point (USMMA), Fort Schuyler (SUNY), Mass Maritime Academy, Maine Maritime, Texas A&M University @ Galveston, Cailforina Maritime Academy.  You will graduate with a BS Degree and if you pass, a USCG 3rd Mates license, Unlimited tonnage if you do the Deck route, or a 3rd Engineer of you go the engine room route.
