  1. Sometimes it happens with the tooth colored fillings. You will have to get the xray done for that and if the tooth is not infected then get the refilling done and if the tooth is infected then you will have to go for Root Canal Treatment. You can consult you dentist on the issue. For more information on Filling and Root Canal Treatment, you can visit www.identalhub.com. Also they have a facility of Free consultation from dentist. You can post your problem and you will get your query answered by a dentist.

  2. If it is an amalgam filling (silver)  then the dentist should have placed a liner of cement underneath the filling. That protects the nerve from temperature. You should go back and tell him that it has felt this way from that point on, that means the cavity was large to begin with and is somewhat close to the nerve, so he should have put some insulation in.  The temperature in food/drinks is irritating the nerve and if left will likely result in a root canal, therefore I would go back to that dentist and tell them your concern. You should have gone back sooner as they will likely charge you or insurance the cost to replace it.  Or if your not happy with that dentist it is fine to see a different one as you will get charged the same anyway.  Good Luck

  3. So, you have been putting up with this for OVER a year-and-a-half!!!

    IF so WHY?

After this much time I doubt you will be believed.

    Come on!

  4. lt could be that the filling was not done well and now you may need a root canal.  I had a cavity from many, many years ago that didn't hold up, my tooth kept decaying, eventually broke apart and is now gone thanks to a root canal.

    Go see another Dentist, fast!!!
