  1. I would be a teacher for mental children  or do some business work.

  2. y not c if u could do voluntary work somewhere to c what its like and to get a bit of experience

  3. sounds like me.  i basically want to do the same but i am not a fan of teaching so that will not happen.  i haven't figured out what i am going to do, but with you wanting a limited college education it may be a little more difficult

  4. umm a pediatrician

  5. honestly if you don't want to spend a lot of time with education then day care is probably going to be your best bet. You can start now by babysitting for neighbors, contact your local DHS and find out how to get certified as a liscenced day care provider.

If you want to be involved in special education you will need a lot of school and training so running or working in a day care center may be your last resource of doing what you love.

  6. You could possibly be an aide, that's probably about it.  With out an education your job field will be very limited.

  7. You could be a

    teacher

    social worker

    work in daycare or babysit

    hospice nurse

    visit childrens hospitals (candystriper etc)

  8. Ok, I understand not wanting to go to college (I'm in 5 years now and I'm so sick of it) but honestly, who's going to let you around their autistic, 4 year old if you haven't had formal education on the matter. Especially to just start out. People are going to want a proven record of experience, and many people may not even let you in the door for an interview without experience/a college degree.

That being said, a teachers aid is really the only option for you. Or you could open a day-care.

If you want to reconsider going to college, there is a HUGE need for special needs teachers right now. You can be pretty much guaranteed a job anywhere in the U.S. with that degree right now.

  9. Without a college education you'll be limited in what you can do. Most states require a degree to get a teacher certification or social worker certificate.

You can definitely work as a nanny or sitter, which is probably a good start... or get a job in a day care and see where it takes you.

  10. Camp Counselor. I have a friend who works at Camp Courageous in Iowa for special needs. There are many of them across the country.

Special Olympics. Each state has its own office and different regional offices within. They need everything from volunteer coordinators to receptionists to public affairs assistants. I worked for SOMI (Michigan).

Bus Driver. Many special needs kids ride a different bus than those without. They need patient and caring people to drive them around.

  11. You could either be a teacher or you might consider social work

  13. When I was your age I went to the local community collage and took an apptitude test that told me what I would be good and better at.

I am sure they still have them.

It's just a test, you don't have to be enrolled in school to take it.

  14. you can be an aide-but will still need about 2 years of college-and teh pay is bad-

you can work in the social service field as a program aide-

for preschool-you can often get a 2 year CDA degree

    professional nanny is an option

  15. Hey,

You might want to consider nursing, social worker, or perhaps a teacher.  Although you would have to go to a 4 year college for the teaching degree.  The nursing would also depend on what type of certification you want to go for.  But the medical field is booming if you want a guaranteed job when you graduate go for nursing.

Most nursing programs are only 2 years and are pretty flexible with their class schedules.  Depends on the college though.

I actually live in MN and there are quite a few great colleges around.  If the reason you don't want to go to a 4 year college is because of money.  Most schools have financial aid available and if you go into education and get a job at a public school you might be able to get some of that tuition expense forgiven by the government.

All I can suggest is look into some colleges give their admissions department a call, or request some more information online.

    Good luck, hope this helps

  16. Speech therapy is a good rewarding one.

  17. i think you should be a teacher

  18. Working for children will be the best thing ever. You will learn so much trust me.Good luck x

  19. You can be a sepcial needs childrens aid without having a collage degree.  You do need a high school daploma though. Just go to the local middle or elementary school and talk to the vice principal or princalpal and they should be able to assist you.

  20. In order to do many of the jobs dealing with special needs kids education is a must. My daughter evaluates and instructs special needs kids at grade school level. She has a master's degree and still attends college courses to keep abreast of new findings. Perhaps you can find work as a teacher's aide or at a daycare facility, but in order to advance your career, an education may become necessary. Most states require a credential to teach and for this a degree is required.

    Good luck.

  21. choose your career carefully grasshoper!!!! little children will burn you out before your prime
