  1. all i remember is that as temperature increases so does the motion of the atoms ..

  2. as temperature increases so does the average kinetic energy of atoms or molecules

    a) the liquid inside the thermometer expands as it gets hotter meaning it rises, so as a thermometer gets hotter the liquid expands and you can see the temperature

    b) Fahrenheit: based on a freezing point (32oF) and boiling point (212oF) of water. This is the most common temperature scale currently used in the United States.

Celsius: based on a freezing point (0oC) and boiling point (100oC) of water.

Kelvin: based on absolute zero, the temperature at which all atomic motion theoretically ceases. Temperatures on the Kelvin scale are represented as K rather than oK.

    c) Conduction is the transfer of energy through matter from particle to particle. It is the transfer and distribution of heat energy from atom to atom within a substance. For example, a spoon in a cup of hot soup becomes warmer because the heat from the soup is conducted along the spoon.

Convection is the transfer of heat by the actual movement of the warmed matter. Heat leaves the coffee cup as the currents of steam and air rise. Convection is the transfer of heat energy in a gas or liquid by movement of currents.

Radiation:  Electromagnetic waves that directly transport ENERGY through space. Sunlight is a form of radiation that is radiated through space to our planet without the aid of fluids or solids.

hope this helps, remember to give best answer out please
