Help Setting up a Netgear wireless router?

I have been following the disk and got all the cables right etc but the computer identified a static ip conection and when i went to put the details in and the primary dns then it came up saying it couldnt connect with those settings

what do i do now

  1. Make sure that you are using a correct default gateway and correct ip range.

    Use DNS :4.2.2.2


  2. Try resetting the router...there is a little hole at the back...push a pin in it and hold it down for a few moments...

  3. 1 turn on your PC

    2 with the router attached to the modem turn them both off

    3 turn on the modem and wait for it to load

    4 next turn on your router and wait for it to connect

    5 restart your computer

    6 right click on the network icon in the task-bar

    7 click connect to a network or show all wireless networks or launch zero config

    8 finally highlight your router and click connect

  4. someone has setup your computer with a fixed dns and ip address open your network connection right click the wireless connection then select tcp properties then select obtain ip address atomically obtain dns automatically then click close should be OK now
