  1. well if you have knee pads just let your self down but don't bang your knees.. that can hurt a lot.  and if you really dive, be focused on the ball but be aware of your safety.  Don't be so in on the game that you go face first into the floor or bang your head.

  2. Generally speaking, girls don't slide as well as guys on the floor.  Simply because our bodies are built differently (i'm sure you know what i'm talking about).  In most situations, girls tend to use a "sprawl" technique (into a roll) more than a dive.  A sprawl is pretty much the same as a dive but without the sliding, and if done in a positive motion (not standing still) should be finished off properly by doing a roll, which will place you back upright on your feet.  For the most part, diving is actually unnecessary.  The roll technique is a much more efficient and quicker way to play the ball and get back up to continue playing.

  3. Don't force it.

  4. yeah, the floor is probably it.

  5. Is the floor recently waxed?? If it is, dont try to slide on it... it really hurts and you wont go as far as 1/4 of an inch without getting a floor burn.

first.. when you slide, run a little... just like when you go sledding. It increases your momentum and it lets you slide farther.

second... if youre right handed then use your right knee to land SOFTLY on the ground and use your left hand to push yourself forward so you can slide even farther.

third... stretch out your right hand as far as you can towards the ball.

basically you just need to push yourself harder towards the ball because if the floor isnt recently waxed, there shouldnt be any problem.
