  1. -4(3 - x) = 2(x + 6 )

    -12 + 4x = 2x + 12 ← distribute

    4x = 2x + 24 ← add 12 to both sides

    2x = 24 ← subtract 2x from both sides

    x = 12 ← divide both sides by 2

    Good luck in your studies,

  2. -4(3-x) = 2(x+6)

    -12+4x = 2x+12

    4x=2x+24

    4x-2x=24

    2x=24

    x=24/2

    x=12

    hope that helps!  =)
