  1. Tenemos ganas de ir al circo.

  2. Tenemos ganas de ir al circo.

    You are correct.."Ganar" means win, but in this case, mean "to wish"

    Like.." Tengo ganas de ir al circo"    I feel to like going to the circus

  3. I think I'd say:

    "Tenemos ganas de ir al circo" using Tener -> tenemos

    ======================================...

    EDIT:

    Oh yes, the word "ganas" is what is called idiom of the Spanish language, it isn't considered a word by the Royal Academy of the Spanish Language, instead you are right it's the 2nd person for the indicative present conjugation for the verb "ganar" which indeed means "to win".

    Nevertheless, in this context, it woks exactly like the expression "feel like" for English; if you look it as the individual meaning of those words, in Spanish literally it would be translated as "sentir como" which is something like saying "I have a feeling similar to..." which doesn't make much sense when you want to say that you want to do something.

    But in this case "ganas" can be interpreted as a noun apart from the verb "ganar" and "las ganas" means "the desire" and works like "craving", for example: Ella tiene ganas de un buen helado -> She have a craving for a good ice-cream.  I hope I was clear enough ^^

  4. Hi there KumoSaur

    tener ganas de;apetecer = to feel like:

    we feel like going to the circus= tenemos ganas de ir al circo or

    nos apetece ir al circo

    I feel like going to the circus= tengo ganas de ir al circo or me apetece ir al circo

    ganar= to win:

    you win!=¡tú ganas!

    we win!=¡nosotros/as ganamos!

    Hope it s clear now :)

  5. ganas can also be roughly translated to "we feel like"

  6. "Tenemos ganas de ir al circo"
