I went out to the barn about an hour ago to check on my animals. I heard meowing and I found a kitten stuck between a door and a wall. It's hard to explain but it had it's back leg stuck between a door and a wall and was just hanging there panting. I had to take down the door to get the kitten down . I put the kitten in a cage with fresh water and food. I'm sure it's back leg is broken, it's bent the wrong way and swelled 8 times the normal size. It's not my kitten and I've called all my neighbors to see if they knew who's it is. Its about half grown. I dont have the money to take it to the vet and I can't get anyone I know to take it either. What do I do???

  1. The poor kitten is suffering in great pain and there is nothing you can do without veterinary help.

Please take the kitten to the nearest animal care facility (humane society or animal control).  They will help the kitten with its suffering.  That is the right thing to do as there is nothing you can give or do at home to help the poor kitten.

  2. Take A small wooden stick take some tape like painters tape and wrap it really tightly around the kitten

  3. Drop ot off at the Pound or Humane Society...Bless you for caring...HUGS!!

  4. hi-poor thing. contact your local cat shelter as they will take it to the vet. it isnt your responsibility to pay for it so dont feel bad- you were great to take it and care about it at all. just dont dump it! lucky kitty to have found you to help.

  5. Get online NOW and start calling rescues in your area, they may be able to help you.

  6. You need to take the animal to the vet or animal shelter, this is a very important case which i feel is out of your hands... professional care is needed.

  7. That's a toughie. We have a lot of free roamers and we can't always afford to get them help. All we can do is love them, feed them, and care for them the best we can. You could get it euthanized, but there is a possibility that the kitten will be fine. We've had a few cats hurt their legs really bad to the point where I think they're broken and then a few days later they're walking fine. I've also seen cats with hurt legs that never really heal but they're happy enough; they just walk with a limp. If it's swollen and the kitten's friendly you could always try putting ice on it. And if there are any cuts try peroxide. Just make whatever decision you're most comfortable with. Good luck!
