Help: Student finance if move to another EU country?

Really hope someone can help clarify this for me:

I am a UK citizen (Scottish) wanting to study a postgraduate course in another EU member state, possibly Denmark or Sweden. Can anyone tell me if I move to an EU country to study am i eligable for the same student financial support as nationals of that country? The Danish & Swedish websites seem to suggest that they only provide funding to their nationals unless an EU citizen has another connection to their country. But the Scottish student agency seems to think that they are only responsible for funding me if I study in the UK. If any non-British EU nationals who are studying here could tell me how they are funded then that would maybe point me in the right direction.

Thanks!!!

  1. Not easy. They are not all as stupid as we are giving money to foreigners.

  2. You could try and get on an Erasmus Programme in another EU Country. A Nephew of mine who was around 19 at the Time went on one and went to Lapland in Norway I think  it was  for several Months. He Stayed in a Student Bloc at the Local University, and His courses was Paid for and he  had Subsidised Expenses, He did not have to Pay the Whole amount  for living Expenses. He could have gone to any of the EU Countries but picked this one because of the type of Courses . See your local Students Union or get in touch with EU Representatives.Try and look it up on the WEB, WWW. eu,europe int I think it is for Information.
