Help! Terrible Headache. Doctors can not see nothing wrong! Nothing works!

Hello Everyone. I hope someone out there can help! A dear friend of mine has Terrible headaches that sometimes last 2 to 3 days.

She has been to several doctors and they do not find nothing wrong with her. Medicine does not work at all! She has to wait till the

headache goes away on her own. This headaches are constantly.

She even tried acupuncture as well, and guess what It did not work. Any tips of how can she get rid of them? Does anyone has this problem? Thanks for all the Help in advance! Please feel free to ask any questions! Please be nice. ; )

  1. Start drinking Green Teas asap your capillaries are closing causing swelling in the brain tissue place a ice compress across forehead and rotate to back of head and neck or use 2 at a time when you feel good make sure you drink the tea 3x a day and at least 1 4 oz glass of red wine in the day at dinner time these will thin the blood and allow for normal blood flow.

  2. There can be so many reasons for headaches.  Many of them are serious underlying health problems such as high blood pressure, aneurysms, sinus problems.  Other causes can be stress or environmental.  I hope your friend has seen a neurologist and had a CT scan.

Your friend needs to be very insistent and proactive about this problem.  She needs to give a complete history of any family histories of chronic health problems to her doctors. If she feels nausea or has sensitivity to light and/or sound, she may be experiencing migraine headaches.  She can reduce the chances of having migraines by eliminating caffeine (including chocolate,) processed meats (they contain nitrates which are a trigger for migraines,) aged cheeses (that is any cheese except American) and alcohol from her diet.

When experiencing a migraine she should lie down in a darkened, quiet room and take an aspirin or motrin (both reduce inflammation of the lining of the brain) until the symptoms pass.

Have her keep a diary of her symptoms and write down questions for doctors.  There are no Marcus Welbys anymore.  (Old tv series where a kindly doctor not only treated any and everyone, but also dug deep into personal lives to solve medical problems.)  Medicine is big business now.  If your friend doesn't speak up LOUDLY and insistently she may be undiagnosed or misdiagnosed and not only suffer needlessly, but depending on the condition, could suffer morbid outcomes.

  3. It's called a MIGRANE honey...deal with it.

  4. she may have allergy problems tell her to take benedryl and see if that helps . if it does, keep taking it so they do not come back!

have her get tested for allergys. my husband had the same problem they treatesd him for migranes just to find out later he was allergic to pollen, dust and mold it was just a simple allergy test by a ear nose and throat doctor.

    Good Luck!

  5. I started getting headaches and Docs gave me migraine meds and they did nothing. Finally started trying allergy meds-Zyrtec works great-you can get in with no prescription now- I use them for a day or so with sinus meds and excedrin type and it breaks it-no one helped and it seems to be the area I live in now-

  6. I used to have headaches for 2-3 weeks at a time, non stop so I know what you are talking about. Mine would be so bad I would have to be hospitalized for days at a time getting pain injections that kept me sleeping until the headache went away. Seems like for 4 or 5 years I was in the hospital more than I was out of it. I also was checked for tumors, migraines, you name it. They even sent me for biofeedback which only made them worse. They sent me to psychiatrists and even put me on nerve pills so I do know what your friend is going through. I was finally diagnosed as having Tension Vascular headaches. What that means is you get a headache and you can't get the pain to go away so the more it hurts the more the blood vessels in your head become engorged with blood, that's why the pain won't stop. You need to get the vessels back to normal size. The best way of doing that is when the head starts hurting take a pain reliever and put an ice pack on your head where it hurts the most ( but you can keep moving it around ). The ice makes the vessels constrict ( get smaller, normal size) and the blood goes out and the head stops hurting. Put the ice pack on your head  for 20 minutes every hour until the pain stops. I've even left it on for 30 minutes. It usually only takes once but if it has hurt a long time it might take another application of the ice. You should be in a place where you can relax while using the ice. Once the headache is gone be careful not to let anything upset you for an hour or 2 at least. I still use this method for my headaches and one other thing is not to use the same pain reliever all the time. You build up a tolerance to it, I switch around (advil, aleve, nuprin, panadol etc.) I'm allergic to Tylenol so I don't use it. Caffeine will also help a headache. Have your friend try this ice method.

  7. Does she have very long heavy hair?

    Does she wear glasses?

    Have her eyes been checked?

Can she see any correlation in foods she is eating and onset of the headaches?

What medications/vitamins is she currently taking?

Has there been an evaluation of carbon monoxide done on her house?

Do they headaches occur shortly after driving?

  8. most likly its a migraine i get them i wake up from them at like 1am then it will keep me up all night and hurt into the next day. what works best for me is advil THE LIQUID GEL CAPS. those are amazing. or try excedrin migraine. i just bought a box havent used yet but heard they are good

  9. I think you have a migraine.  I've never had one, but I've heard that they are terrible.

  10. I get very bad headaches, also, and sometimes it causes me to throw up. Sometimes nothing helps. Other times when I use Excedrin Migraine and then sit still in a comfortable chair, where it is quiet, for 20 minutes or so I feel better. I have to sit up, when I lie down I feel sicker. I know you said medicine didn't help, but maybe your friend could try the Excedrin if she hasn't yet. I am sorry I don't know of anything else to help. I hope she will find something that works for her.

  11. Not good for the long run, but if you need to get rid of a headache quick, take a couple Excedrin Migraine.  I was about fed up with trying new headache medicine but a friend gave me a couple to try next time i had a headache, which is quite often.. and they worked !

Go buy a small bottle of them at a Walgreens or something.
