Question:

Help! The 'messages' link in a yahoo group does not show?

I have this really strange problem. I am taking a film class at my local community college, and as part of that we are supposed to talk about and discuss the productions we see in class. The group is a closed group (requiring membership). I have signed up, received permission from the moderator (our instructor) but when I go to the groups' website, i cannot see the messages link. I can post, but i cannot see the messages. I can't read and respond to anyone!

I have tried different things: changing my group membership settings (mail only, web site only and the other two) and i have tried signing up with a new yahoo ID, all to no avail. This happens at home with two different computers, vista, XP.

There is no messages link ... any ideas?

  1. there will be no tab if the group does not store its messages.

this would be decided by the moderator (your instructor) have a word with him/her to see if messages are usually available.

  2. it's not a closed group by the way, it's restricted membership-

there's not an issue on your end- it's within the group settings that the archives are closed and only the owner can change that setting. a choice would be setting yourself to individual mail than no mail, and you'll get all the posts
