If I have Windows Vista Basic on my computer can I download microsoft office up there too and still have Vista? I need Word for a webpage for my class but I don't have it. I get Microsoft Office software through my school for free; so can I use it without messing up the software I already have?

I'm completely clueless when it comes to computers

  1. Vista is an operating system.  You can install any supported application (including MS Office 2003 and MS Office 2007) on the operating system.

Most applications will tell you what operating systems they run under.  Just check the side of the box and see if it lists Vista.  If so, you're good to go.

  2. vista is an operating system, microsoft office is a programme. yes you can run it on vista. I have office '07 and microsoft works both running on my vista laptop and desktops, no problems.

  3. not sure but check on these sites info should be there.

    "it's vista"

    "vista 4 beginners"

    hope this helps

  4. have openoffice instead, its the same as ms office but free

  5. Hey

if thats the one below vista home, Im not sure. I thought vista basic  was the little os used as a teaser, for the other apps.

you know like when you try something you get a msg saying,

    "not available get...."

you may want to spring for vista business, if your in college most universities will let you download that for free... if your in HS, ask your parents?

but if your doing html you can use notepad for web, unless you want to do clipart stuff.

    good luck.

    D.
