  1. Well you basically answered your own question. Either pay the new rent or it seems that you might have to close the bakery. Good Luck!

  2. I agree with the person who said your rent can't be raised until a lease is up.

How much is it being raised? 10% or 100%? If the percentage is small, your mom may need to increase prices.

Consider getting financing to move, or perhaps sell an interest in the business.

See if the Chamber of Commerce for your area can offer suggestions. Also find some local business networking groups and present the problem there. You may find someone who might have a business location they'll fix up to your specifications at their expense. Or someone with ideas to make the bakery more profitable.

  3. everthing

  4. if you have a lease, then he can't raise the rent till the lease is being renewed.  if the lease IS being renewed right now, and that's the reason for the increase, then you basically SOL.

  5. Negotiate with the landlord. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush: Right now the landlord has a tenant, your mom, paying rent. Maybe she can pay a bit more. But if the rent goes up as proposed she'll have to move out, and the landlord, at best, is going to have a vacancy for several months. Maybe longer. So, make the landlord see that it's in his best interest, too, to keep the store occupied and rent-producing.

Your mom should also be looking at either getting more customers/clients or in expanding her more profitable lines of baked goods. You always have to market, and you always have to be looking at increasing profitable business.

    Hope that helps.

  6. sweetie i feel u its so d**n bad, no money no jobs we are so f*** up

  7. Each of us makes sacrifices to maintain a level of living. It's the same with a business.  Your mom will need to look very carefully at all her expenses and see where she can make some cuts that will produce enough to cover the increase in rent.
