Help! What should I plant next to my garage?

Hello! I am having a hard time deciding what to plant next to my garage! I live in Michigan or Zone 5! During the Spring it gets a lot of sun Summer and fall its receives morning/mid morning sun and afternoon shade. I would any advice you can give me! thanks!

Choose either a tall flower or a spreading vine.  Tall flower choices would be delphiniums or hollyhocks.  A spreading vine that likes to be rooted in shade but reaches up for the sun is clematis.
