Actually genius (gonzo) you are wrong, Tom is right.  You are basing it on YOUR time zone, which in Alabama is Central.  The questioner is going on the 12:30 EASTERN start time that is posted on Nascar.com.

It should be a 12 hour difference, your 6:00 pm would be our 6:00 am.

So the race would start Sunday @ 12:30 am in the Philippines.

Gee, a thumbs down already. And it's only 8:00 am EST!!!!

Midnight between Tuesday, June 10, 2008 and Wednesday, June 11,2008

then it's

Manila (Philippines) Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 1:00:00 PM

So it's a 13 hour difference, according to the World time clock.
