I had a miscarriage July 6th. My first period since then confuses me. August 4th I started bleeding. No cramps, lasted the whole day. Then nothing for 2 days. Then cramps and bleeding started again Aug 7th and still going on now. What would you consider the 1st day so I can track my ovulation?

  1. Cycle day one is August 4th, if that is what you are asking.

  2. i would say august 4th

  3. first in so sorry for your loss I know the emotions and feelings of loss.  It sucks I had a miscarraige in february. It was kind of intensified because I found out on my birthday.  But anyway the way my doctor explained it to me was one I was ready to try again to go for it but he suggested to wait a month so that your menstrual cycle is back on schedule.  Because if start to try again right away technically is way harder to tell when you concieved.  Because the on and off bleeding is normal when having. A miscarraige so technically they would have to go on when your last known period was which would be the month you conceived.  It just complicates things on giving you a exact due date.  My advice would be to wait a month so that you know your on schedule and that you will have a precise due date instead of a guess.  Once you stop bleeding count from what your normal period would be how long I mean and go from there.

  4. First, Im sorry for your loss. Its kind of a hit or miss situation, my advice would be to count first day from the fourth- keeping in mind that ovulation may occur earlier or later or even not at all yet. Hormones are tricky- as you know. Just do ovulation tests and keep checking your mucus. You will know when its right! Trust your body and trust that your child is coming!

  5. get a basal temperature thermometer at Walgreens or most any drug store. Take your temperature every morning before you get out of bed.  It's important to not get up or drink anything first. Write down what your temperature is each day. It will vary a little each day but when it spikes and goes up a lot, you will be ovulating.  Be sure it's a basal thermometer.
