Help! Where exactly do you oil a Singer Genie sewing machine? I lost the book! Please help! ?

I have the nice bottle of oil but have no idea where to put it! Husband and I disagree where the oil should go... please help... project delays major problem! Thanks so much!

  1. Go to their website and follow the links to sewing machines and product manuals.  


  2. As 20 years as sewing machine tech  and collector I will tell you to put a drop of oil anywhere two pieces of metal move togeather. The needlbar that goes up and down and anything else thats metal and moves and is connected. Metal gears need a bit of grease. Plastic parts or plastic/metal gears should not get oil, a bit of lithium grease or vaseline is fine. Any more than a drop or two of white sewing machine oil after every 8 hours of sewing may collect dirt and lint that could cause problems. 3 in 1 oil is not good, will leave bad residue. Save some money and remove the case covers yourself. Just put them back on the same way.

    So your answer from me is... lubricate where anything that moves comes togeather.
