I'm in the process of ordering a replacement radiator for my 1997 Volvo S90... Can anyone help me choose betwwen Cryomax or Spectra brand radiators? The only differences I can find online are the length of warranty--Spectra is 2 year, Cryomax is lifetime... Which is the better brand, from your experience?

  1. I would definitely go with the Cryomax radiator just because of the lifetime warranty.

  2. i agree with jaxer. if the car were newer, i would buy a factory replacement but the factory parts tend to be a bit more pricey. aftermarket radiators are quite a gamble when consideration is given to the amount of labor required to replace. maybe the best bet is to take the car to a mechanic shop to have the replacement done thereby relieving yourself of the responsibility of the purchase and placing the burden of the responsibility on them in case the part fails. labor isn't usually warranteed when parts are customer furnished so you may have to pay labor 2 or more times if the radiator fails if you furnish it. hope this helps you. if this is a high mileage car then the cheaper might be your best bet considering how long the car might last.

  3. They are both about the same, so I would purchase the cheaper one no matter the warranty. If it is going to have a problem, it will probably happen within the first 50 miles of driving it from when it is installed.

  4. Hun, it does not matter. A radiator is a radiator, and they cery rarely do go out on you. The warranty's are for if the radiator goes out on it's own... Most radiators get leaks from someone pokin it or something (not covered under warranty). There really is no difference in them, just get the cheaper one. It's not gonna affect anything - you have my word on it.

    hope this helps

    Cheers
