Help! Why do all of the men in my new city always look at me and smile?

I moved from the west part of Arkansas to a city in Tennessee and there are a lot of men here and few women. They are really friendly towards me in a way that makes me a little nervous. My wife thinks that it's funny and she seems to have befriended a lot of them and they all go shopping at the mall all the time. Why do these men act different from the men in Arkansas. I can't figure it out. I have never seen this before. What is it?

The don't just simply stare at me. They gaze at me when I'm not looking. And then when I turn around, I catch them turning away really fast. This has happened when I was getting gas and it happens a lot.

They are all probably g*y especially since they shop with your wife but not to worry as long as they keep there space.
