We have a flight to Cancun we are leaving for at 6am on MONDAY. Will my wife be able to board for the 2 week honeymoon?!

She's a mexican citizen as well as an american. Her Passport and citizenship card both say her maiden last name.

Her drivers license and social security card both have her married name.

We don't have a marriage certificate because it was lost and there is no time to get a copy. Please save the "well you should have thought of that before the weekend" comments, we know. We thought we had it in the folder but it isn't there.

The question is, will we be able to board our American Airline flight? with her passport citizenship card saying one last name and her drivers license and social security number saying her married name? If we bring the marriage application, some wedding pictures and the RECEIPT for our marriage license from the courthouse?(but not the actual license)

  1. I would call American and tell them exactly what you told us here.  This is one of those sticky situations where you can get all sorts of "advice" from folks on Yahoo may not be useful once you get to the airport.  The folks at American, however, can tell you what you will need and document your record so that the agent at the airport can see exactly what's happened and what you've been told.

They should also be able to tell you about requirements to come back into the US.

    Good luck!

  2. If you use the passport as ID, there's no need to show your driver's license or social security card.

  3. What matters is: What name is on her ticket? If it matches passport, that's ALL you need.
