Help With A Topic For My Speaking Exam?

Question

I need a topic to talk about for my english speaking exam

I can't think of anything

It has to be an arguable question

I can't think of any that aren't too general

Can anyone suggest anything?

How about... anything that's ever been argued in politics? Woah, wow, just opened up hundreds of options, from Abstinence to Cryptozoology. (Okay, I can't think of a topic that begins with Z, so zoology will have to do.)

try thinking of stuff that you've asked your friends for their opinion on and they give a different opinion then yours

write something on why you think yours is better, more acurate, etc. maybe something like arguing that you should have 1full wek off of thanksgiving break(if you don't already but i don't have a whole week off) something that you feel should be happening(more time off school etc.)

Try something along the lines of abortion, maybe? You never want to bring up politics or religion. They could scar you for life in school. Even abortion is a tough but somewhat general subject. Maybe try arguing both sides of Pro-choice and Pro-life?

Or you could try battling the definition of ADD/ADHD. It seems everyone nowadays has it. Maybe you could find info on it and get the percentage 20, 10, 5 yrs ago and present and compare them to standard's of education. Maybe saying that parents (and/or their children) might be using the terms ADD/ADHD too loosely. If it's a serious problem in America today, why does everyone have it...things like that! good luck!

I did,"does the media manipulate young people into changing how they look", you can talk about size 0 and all that to say that they do, and that that it makes young people healthier if they go on a diet or something! You can also talk about how the media changes how the models look on the computer so they don't show how they look in real life, so we get conned.
