Question:

Help With Buick Cornering Lamps, ?

I have a 1998 Buick LeSabre Custom. The cornering lamps don't work. Two other LeSabres I have owned were the "Limited" models that the cornering lamps worked. My question is: On the "Custom" models, are the cornering lamps real or just decorative?

  1. the "custom" is usually the bare bones model which does not come with cornering lamps. the reflectors are there , but there is no hole for the socket, or socket itself. you can probably drill a hole and insert your own socket. the biggest problem will be with wiring. get an electrical wiring diagram for your year vehicle and most likely there will already be wires somewhere under the hood you can tap onto to make them work. if there are no wires the best thing would be to get a cornering lamp relay module from a ford, lincoln or mercury full size car made between 1980-1991 these modules are located under the dash, typically attached to the metal frame of the bottom of the dash board. there will be a pair of modules connected to a metal bolt.  unscrew the bolt and get the modules, be sure to cut the wires and take the sockets with you with as much extra wire as you can get on them. from there it is a matter of figuring out how to wire the modules. if you need help post another reply and leave an email address and i will help you with the wiring.
