Help With Car Performance?

Question

I have a 99 Chevy Cavalier, with a standard transmission and a 2.2L engine. For some reason whenever my car gets around a half tank of gas the acceleration and performance seem to be a lot less then when I have a full tank down to a half tank. I was wondering if this standard, which I doubt since it has never happened in any other car I have owned. Also does any have an ideas how to treat this problem or know what could be the cause of this trouble. Thanks for all advice.

it sounds like your fuel pump is getting bad,or your filter is clogged
