Help With Decorating Tips please

I am going to be painting my little Girls room soon at the moment it is powder pink she wants it lilac is it best to do a coat of white emulsion first or just do two coats of the New colour I'm using dulux so it should cover well. Ps does someone want to come and help with the worst bit gloss work.

yes put a coat of white emulsion on first.

Two coats of the new colour will be fine..Particularly as you are not using cheap own brand rubbish to do the job..

If you are within a reasonable distance I can do the glossing for you..It is after all my living..

2 coats of powder pink but water the first coat down with 1 third dilution (it covers quicker). its going to be just as hard covering the white.

Whatever colour you buy, get the low-odour it doesnt cost any more, and dries quicker and it doesnt grab you by the throat and choke you.

You can buy 'obliterating paint' which takes one coat to cover the original colour and then you paint over it with whatever colour you decide for the final coat.  Can recommend it.

Have the primer tinted with the new color. 1 coat primer, 1 coat new color...done deal

IT WILL BE FINE WITH JUST 2 COATS OF DULUX

You could just do two coats of the new colour.  If you have bought one coat, you may well get away with one.  Why not do a couple of walls in the lilac and keep a couple pink?  Pink and Lilac look lovely and would save you time!

I am doing up my small ones room this week and I painted it white, them pink. It was a green colour. I covered it white although it took 2 coats of pink. I am going for eggshell and not gloss, its easier.
