Help With Doing Better In Homeschool?

Alright, so here goes... I am a homeschool student, and have been homeschooled since my Sophomore year. I am a Junior now. I also have some homeschool experience in 8th grade. Through the process of homeschooling, and comparing it to public school, I far prefer homeschool. However, a few years back, staring just around the time I was homeschooled my Sophomore year, changes started happening in my family and home, that left me under so much stress, that I could not work properly. I could barely finish assignments (and sometimes would skip days), and the stress was so bad that I was literally FORGETTING things that my subjects were teaching me. I am my own teacher pretty much, and that has always worked well for me until these changes started to occur. Now, being a Junior, I am retaking the Sophomore classes over to try and get a better grade... And still, the same problems leave me forgetful. Can anyone suggest a good way to motivate myself to work hard on my schoolwork?

  1. Well, if you are having those problems at home, you could try taking your work to the library or something. It is a quiet environment and has all of your resources. I find it easier to concentrate there because you don't have anyone bothering you or making noise. :)

  2. If you are still having outside things causing you stress, then you have 2 choices: learn how to effectively deal with the stress so that you can remember things the way you used to and/or learn new techniques for remembering things.

It sounds like in general you need to kind of start over to develop motivation. I'd suggest looking online and at the library for things on being a better student, study skills, better grades, student success and more. Also check into mind maps and memory programs.
