Help With Question About Quotation Marks?

i want to quote a passage but want to leave a few words out..

is this what it would look like?

“bright and pink on these evenings out, her laugh (...) was high-pitched and nervous (...) like the jingling of the charms on her bracelet.”

i dont remember how to leave parts out so i just put (...) in place of the words i dont want to include

how could i do this?

  1. You are pretty much right; you just don't need the parentheses. It would look like this: “bright and pink on these evenings out, her laugh...was high-pitched and nervous...like the jingling of the charms on her bracelet.”
