Question:

Help With a 4 year old Girls BirthDay Party!?

by  |  earlier

My daughter will be 4, she loves the Lion King.

She says that she wants a big party this year so I plan to invite a lot of kids (10-20) and some family.

I have no clue what to do for her birthday. I know that I will not have it my apartment, I will have to most likely rent out a place.

Any suggestions?

All I know is that I have the food menu picked out that's all. I don't have any other ideas. I want it to feel like her birthday.

  1. I would say save some money and have it at a park under a pavillion. Kids that age like to be outside anyways and a park is big enough for everyone. Just make sure there are plenty cold drinks. You can hang decorations or rent a lion costume, of course the lion king cake....maybe lionking masks for the kids, iono.

  2. How fun!  My daughter turns 9 next week.  I have done a different theme each year for her parties.  I think it is a lot of fun to do craft projects with your child to use at their party.  Get your daughter to talk to you.  Kids are always the best source for imagination inspiration.  Ask her what she thinks about when she thinks "Lion King".  There is no telling the cool stuff your brilliant little prodigy will come up with for you!  Here are some suggestions based on my previous projects:

#1 download the Lion King soundtrack (Limewire probably has it for free) and play through the party

#2 kids love to limbo!  Make a simple limbo contest out of 1" PVC or Bambo.  They can use their little imaginations to get under the stick.  If you don't want to make a stand, recruit some party goers to hold the limbo stick during the game.

#3 Fix some crazy centerpieces that are edible.  I have used various containers filled with gummy worms & bugs "crawling out" of oreo or graham cracker crumbs.

#4 Kids love to make crafts at parties.  I have traced my daughter's hands & feet and made copies on different color paper.  Then you can cut out the shapes for the kids to make hats to wear at the party.

#5 You can make cheap and fun "rain sticks" out of cardboard tubes and beans.  Family Circle magazine has some great ideas on their web site.  www.familycircle.com

#6 Based on what your daughter describes "Lion King" as in her little mind, decorate your party area.  Use raffia or grape vine wreath to make a jungle area.  Cut out shapes from cheap craft foam board and use poster markers to color them like bright flowers and animals.

MOST importantly, do not stress over the party so much that YOU don't enjoy celebrating such a great day with your little one.  I spent most of Macy's 1st party stressing over the decorations, favors, etc.  I wish I had been more in the moment with her.  I have done better ever since.  She is so creative.  I learned the hard way not to underestimate the ideas she contributes.  Hope some of these tips help you celebrate such a special day! =)

  3. get a big bouncy castle all kids love them and have party games like pin the tail on the donkey (or loin for a lion king theme) decorate the place so that it looks like the inside of a cave or the open jungle and stick pictures of the caractures on the wall. she will love it just make sure that you make her the centre of attention. and she would love it no matter what

  4. pump it up or jump planet

  5. We had a Hawaiian luau  for my 4 yr old daughter. She loved it. we had inflatable palm trees and 2 small blow up swimming pools. We played themed music and had lots of fruit trays and we did shish ka bobs for the main course. For gifts we ordered little surf board flashlights, grass skirts, and flower Leigh's from oriental trading company.

We made the cake at home and used blue icing to make the ocean and put a small barbie type doll in a grass skirt next to a hut we built out of gram crackers and pretzels. It turned out so nice. Hope i have helped and Happy Birthday to your beautiful baby girl. They grow up too fast .

  6. better arrange the party in mac donalds or in KFC,and gv her gift relating wth lion king story.i hope she wll get happy .

  7. if you live in a nice climate, have it in a park somewhere outside and decorate it to look like a savannah with straw and stuff, and maybe a petting zoo. you could set it up like a carnival, it would be so much fun for her! have pony rides too.
