Alright I am an idiot. I have a radio in my car and the speakers it came with. I have two 15" 1000 watt subs (not hooked up yet). Is there anything else I need to get before I put them in? Thanks.

  1. Well. If it's the stock car radio, you'll either need a line-out converter. If not, the deck should have pre-amp outputs. As for the subs, you need a box. You're going to need a power wiring kit (4 gauge) for your subs, an amplifier to match your subs, remote wire, speaker wire, RCA cables and screws. Also you might want some zip ties to make everything look nice. That's pretty much all I can tell you without knowing more about the setup. Feel free to contact me should you still have questions.

    Good Luck.

  2. Well you will need an amp and an amp wiring kit at the least, Is the stereo the factory unit or is it aftermarket. If it's factory then you will need to tap into the original speaker wiring to connect the amp, either by getting an amp with speaker level inputs or using a line out converter to convert the high level speaker outputs to low level outputs. If it's an aftermarket unit then you will need an RCA patch cable to connect it to the amp. Also if the kit doesn't come with speaker wiring you will need to get some also
