Ok so i am coming with a friend to Paris for a weekend soon.

I am wanting to find a club on saturday night that will not let me down! I'm in to everything from r'n'b to indie, not so much house music.. If anyone has any great recommendations i would love to hear.

Also.. Hotel info!

I have a few choises of hotel to stay in, my first choice is a hotel right next to gare du nord station, as it's near to the eurostar but is it a wise location to be? Will it take a long time to get to where all the action is? How far is it from the eiffel tower?

I would ideally like a hotel in the younger area of paris with the good bars (i hear bastille is a good area?) or somewhere with a good view, such as the eiffel tower area..

My options are hotels in these areas (metro station):

Gare du nord

Ternes

Grands Boulevards

St Lazare

Cadet

Jacques Bonsergent

& Bibliotheque

what would you recommend?? Any info would be great, thanks!

  1. Hi, I agree with Lanerose, Ternes is a good district, safe in the night when you come back, a lot of Bus, subway, Direct to Trocadero and Eiffel Tower (bus n° 30), Direct to Gare du Nord (Eurostar) and Gare de l'Est Bus n°30, Montparnasse Bus n° 92, Invalides Bus n°93, walking to Etoile Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees, I recommand Ternes area, Sorry, I don't know club like you prefer, but in Quartier Latin and Saint Germain des Prés there is a lot, with different music and jazz.

    Welcome in Paris

  2. I will rate you to take your hotel at ternes. It's around 20mn from gare du nord with the metro, 10mn to champs-elysées by foot and when you are a good walker you can reach Trocadero- tour Eiffel in 35 or 40mn if you are not getting lost;-).

In the area, the clubs are chics and expensive.

Bastille is also a very good area for young people lol. If you  want to go out there, take your hotel in jacques bonsergent ( but i don't know how good is the area), it not far away from gare du nord, from bastille also. It will be a little long to reach Eiffeil Tower but you can not have all in one right? ;-)

Try rue de la roquette for cafés and bars...

    Have a nice trip.

  3. Grands Boulevards is near 'les Galerie Lafayette', a famous shop, and great architectural places like the Opera Garnier, the Bourse. St Lazare is in the same area, a little bit more in the west of Paris and so near the Eiffel tower.

Gare du Nord is 'far' from everything, and not really a touristic area.

About clubs, if you're in the 20's, 'La locomotive' ( station name is Blanche, line 2 ) near Pigalle, and not far from St Lazare, Gds Blvds.

In the 30's, just walk on Les Champs Elysees and enjoy :-))
