Question:

Help about digital photo frames?

My very elderly mother sits in her chair all day. She is in the early stages of Alzheimers and gets fixated on things so we thought we would get her something to look at. We bought her 3 goldfish and now we're buying her a digital photo frame but after looking at them today I have questions. Can you get ones that run on batteries or would they go flat too quickly. Do you just load your photos on to a USB stick and load them onto the frame? All of the ones I've looked at say they are compatible with windows OS. I have a Mac. Why does it need to be compatible with anything? aren't you just loading JPEGS onto a device? Any info would be appreciated.

  1. Most have an sd card reader in them. You only need it to be compatible with a computer if you want to hook it up to one to transfer photos. As far as I know, they don't have any battery operated ones. My guess is the same as yours, battery life. I would imagine it would have to use a large (like in a laptop) size battery that wouldn't last too long. The newer Panasonic plasma tvs have built in sd card readers that will do the same thing as a digital photo frame.

I only mention this in the event your looking for an excuse to buy a new tv as well.
