My friends dad showed up with a baby chicken that their dog got to........ sad story. i dont know what to do, and cant afford a vet and neither can they! She has a puncture wound, and i think her leg is broken. I wrapped her leg up and cleaned the wound very well. She doesnt seam to be in major pain, is still very happy when i hold her, and i am able to get her to drink, but not eat. What do i do! I am the horse dog car expert, but not bird!

  1. Take an egg and scramble it, put a little milk, and sugar and put it in a syringe make sure its not too thick and feed it that. If its really woung then just give it a couple days as the yolk is still in its belly providing food. Hope it helps

  2. It's probably not hungry yet.. Give it time. If it still doesn't eat, push it's head into the food, or put the food in the water.. Just a little in the water tho.

You can make a splint for the leg with a straw. Make the straw lay flat, and tape it to the leg, preferably with medical tape.

Any more questions, email me privately, I've done this tons of times thanks to a cat with leg and wing appetite on chicks....
