  1. 48

    =)

  2. The answer is 18 multiplied by 12.  Divide the result by 4.5 but figure in some wastage.

  3. 48 boxes

  4. 48

  5. this is 216sf

If there is only 4.5 sf in one box  you would need 48 boxes

make sure you allow for breakage maybe add a box or two

    to cover the project.

    Hope this helps!

  6. 18*12=216

216/45=4.8, since a box of tile contains 45 sq ft normally, rather than 4.5.

You would need 5 boxes if that were the case.

  7. What do they teach in school?

  8. Somehow I get the nagging feeling that if you have to ask a question like this you should not be attempting this project.

The exact area of the patio would require 48 boxes of tile, but you need to allow about 10% for breakage and scrap, so you should get about 53 boxes.

48 boxes would not do it under any circumstances.  Anyone who answered 48 boxes has never done a tiling job in their life.  I am able to do my tiling projects with only about a 5% waste, but that is because I lay the job out first and plan it properly.  Usually it is reommended to figure 15% waste, which would mean you would need about 55 boxes, but with a little care and advance planning you can get away with a lot less.
