Help children??

Question

Okay, so I am only 16 years old but I keep seeing all these videos && things on T.V. about children in Africa that are starving && dying daily && it's really depressing. Obviously, I cant really GO there yet because I don't have enough money to pay $2000 for a plane ticket there or I would go a.s.a.p. So I was wondering if anyone knows of any ways that I could help the children there. I would LOVE to start a program of some type to raise money, get donations of food, clothes, toys, books, etc. but I am not too sure how to get started on that or where I would send it all when I do get it.

So if anyone knows a way I can get started on that, PLEASE, let me know.

i wouldnt send any money there.. if you really want to help, so some kind of volunteer work or send some kind of tangible goods...

i say not to send money becasue it seems there are sooo many ppl giving money to this country and it doesnt seem to be helping at all.. it just kinda makes me suspicious of wherethe money is really goin.... i mean, look at all the celebrities that have dropped millions and millions tryin to help in africa...and not to mention us "regular" folk who send donations... i just think with all the money that has been sent, we should have seen a very significant improvement by now... im not at all sayin the country doesnt need it, cause they obviously do...im just not sure i trust their government or the ppl collecting the money.

Operation Christmas Child....I did it in high school. You might be able to get your other classmates involved. If not, it's still a great cause if u want to do it alone.

there are certain programs that send volunteers there. FOR FREE! Look around the internet for more info.
