Help choosing a direct sales company, that doesn't require a lot of home parties?

Question

I have been researching a lot of direct sales companies, such as Home Interiors, Pampered Chef and so on. I have another 6 mths before my son is born, so I will be working part time and going to school full time, so i wont have much time for parties. I would like to however, get started and get my feet on the ground so that when I quit my job and am only going to school fulltime I can get into the parties...I have tried Avon, and the market is just too saturated. ANy help??? Thanks!

Ok, I can give you a Pampered Chef view.  I have been a consultant for 9 years and have had times when I couldn't do home parties.  The customer loyalty and practicality of PC makes it very easy to scale back to catalog-show-only mode because your customers will be happy to help you out when you have a need to scale back.  The practicality of PC makes it easy to have good catalog shows because people know the good quality of the products and the usefulness of them, so they'll place an order without necessarily having to go to a show.  You can do as much or as little as you want, even starting out.  When I started, I only did one show a month and then built it up when I wanted to.  You are welcome to contact me at [e-mail] if you have any questions.  I would love to help you make an educated decision - even if that decision is to not do PC.

I did it with Mary Kay.  I was working full time and had a 2 year old planning on having another one.  I did do everything they recommended in the beginning to jump start my business and establish a client base.  As far a shows go I found I could hold appointment one or two people in my home while the baby napped so you make it fit your life.   The great thing about it is the you get reorders after having my second I hardly worked matter of fact I don't work much now either.  You can do as little or as much as you want based on what you want to make and with the skin care I get reorders every 3 months with out doing anything.
