We are looking at 2 different preschools for my son. both are at churches in my area,3 hrs, 3 days per wk. Preschool #1 is closer to my house so they said 98% of those kids will go to kindergarten with my son. I like the preschool but they do not do Bible story daily , But, I did like the school from what I saw, but have been asking around and so far-have found no one that actually goes to the school to ask THEIR advice.

Preschool #2 is a little further and the teacher said they only have 1 kid enrolled that will go to kindergarten with my son. If it were not for this I would probably choose this preschool for my son, mainIy b/c I know several whose children have went there and they love it! My son is very shy! Doesnt like large groups, slow at making friends. he went to Bible class (without me) last school year and at the end of the year, was still somewhat clingy to the teachers on the playground. maybe another yr will make a difference.just worried about kindergarten w/new kids....

  1. Let's see...

    Pre-school 1

    closer to home

    child is shy

will move on to Kdg with same kids

    Pre--school 2

    daily Bible stories

    I would go with Pre-school 1:

You like the school. Your son will move on to Kdg with many of the kids he already knows, so he may be more outgoing in Kdg since he is comfortable with his classmates, and you will not have the worry about how he will fit in with a classroom of new friends.

If you are worred about Bible class, you can read the stories to him at home during your daily read together time or you could find a local church for Sunday School. (If he will be going to a public school kindergarten, there won't be any daily Bible readings anyway).

  2. preschool #1 coz if there's only 1 kid enrolled...then ur child will not be social...n will be shy all his life...so better choose preshool # 2

  3. You shouldn't worry that much =]

Your son will adapt..let him take his time...Hes just going through a stage with meeting new people...its like if you were to go to a room with 50 people you wouldn't shput your name and go talk to everyone as soon as you come in..it takes time...follow your heart and pick the school you think is best.

He will appreciate it...Kindergarten is going to go nice....Hey maybe he is slow at making friends becuase he likes to be independent and not follow or hang with other kids...Or he is probably attatched to his Mommy.[awww]

Well thats all I have to say..just remember MOMMY KNOWS BEST!!!

  4. Try to keep asking around about the preschool but if you still get no info-I would stick with #2. You already know from some of the parents that they love the school. He will develop more social skills in preschool and he is getting older and more mature. Kindergarten may be a little hard at first but I really think he will adjust quickly. at the end of his preschool year-visit the kindergarten and the school as much as you can so he will see where he will be going.

good luck to you and your son!

    =0)

  5. I say preschool #1...closer to home and he will be with his friends. Good luck!!

  6. You need to set your priority right for your child first and ask what is the most important criteria for your child in choosing a preschool, if you can't have everything you want.

A good preschool is one that helps develop your child in 5 important areas of life: physical, Intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual.
