Help choosing a worthwhile Career

Question

I want to do a lot of things. I would like to run a business, marketing, and be a musician/sing/acting(that can come on it's own), possibly do my own clothing line, and I really like law. I need to be surrounded by these types of jobs...

What Careers would you recommend ?

What degrees would i need ? doesn't matter how many.

I'd recommend just going for a law degree if you think you can be dedicated enough to it. You'll learn a lot about different careers while you're in college, and you really will be able to do almost everything on your list with a law degree. A law degree is really going to help with starting your own business, you could use your law knowledge to even start your own record label and do your own music. Same for clothing, the law degree would really give you an upper hand. It is something to definately consider. You don't need a definate career plan right now, I'd recommend just going to school and getting a feel for a bunch of different things to see what you'd feel most comfortable doing. Good luck!

If you go into law, the general practice is to get a history or political science bachelor's degree, and then go to law school. You can rather cheaply do the B.A. by going two years to a local community college, and later transferring to a four-year college to finish your last two-years. (Or finish them by a program such as Excelsior College, which used to be called Regents' College, University of the State of New York). Should you prefer to practice law with cases in areas such as the environment, then a biology B.A. might be better than a history degree.

To run a business, such as a restaraunt, you don't have to have a degree (one of the good points about self-employment), but you still need to get experience in the field of whatever business you go into. So some general education (say, an associate's degree---two years at a community college) that would be applicable in the field you go into business-wise might help.
