Question:

Help choosing new tennis racquet?

I'm a high school 3rd singles player and I also play in USTA ranking tournaments in the L2 boys' 16 division. I recently broke the frame of my Ti. S6 tennis racquet, rendering it useless forever. I need a new racquet for tournaments.

My playing style includes:

Long, loopy swing

midway power/control [if i had to choose, i would say power]

aggressive net play

i'm naturally skinny/ have long, skinny arms and wrists

like to change my swing according to my position, strength, and the position of the ball on the court

I aim the ball very precisely, so i need precision

Also, I do not want a junior, novice, or development racquet AT ALL.

i'm looking for a racquet with a thin, light frame, fast swing, has excellent feel on the ball, and a decently/appropriately-sized head size

(also looking for a racquet meant for advanced players)

  1. Yeah, right. A player that level would never play with a Ti S6. He'd be ridiculed with a head size that's like 115 inches. NO player on a team has a 9 oz. headheavy racket. That's impossible to play with when you're dealing with heavy shots.

    I suggest a Babolat racket, because you're a noob.

  2. Hi.If you want to buy racquet i will suggest wilson racquet. And good luck playing tennis=).

  3. WILSON 6

  4. Personally, I would go with the Babolat Pure Drive Rodick Plus.  It has a very stiff frame, and has the perfect balance between power and control. is strong at the net.  It doesn't have a very thin head, but i think you can live with that, as it isn't very heavy (I mean, even some 9-year-old girls us it) and you can still get a fast swing.  If you want to research this racquet and more, go to www.tennis-warehouse.com.

  5. the best racket for getting good control and power would probably be

    Wilson : Ktour,Ksixone Team, Ntour 1 & 2

Head : Microgel radical mid plus, Microgel Extreme

Prince: Ozone Pro Tour, Hybrid Hornet, Hybrid Shark

    Babolat: Pure Storm Tour

    Tecnifibre: TFight 335 (16x20)

    Yonex: RQS 11, RDS 003, RDS 002

    Dunlop: Aerogel 300, Aerogel 500

I'm currently using Wilson K tour because I got sponsorship by Wilson... so I think that's the best one on your list.

I hope this will help you :)

  6. i personally am looking into the kblade a lot. i asked a question about it too recently. to me, out of all of them, i think that wilson's rackets are the best. babalot rackets are good too but i dont think they are the best.

  7. Definitely scratch the K Six-Two and KPro off your list if you don't want low level rackets. They're not beginner rackets, but they are more for the intermediate player. If you really play high level tennis, then I don't recommend those.

The Pure Drive racket is an okay choice because of its power and spin and some control. Not so good at net, because of its high stiffness.

Kblade 98 is okay. It's a little low on the power and spin but good on control and net play.

Never played with the Fischer however they have great quality.

I highly recommend the RDS001 MP, not the Mid because it may be to weak for you. The MP is the best all-around racket and has the great Yonex quality. You'll be needing multiple rackets obviously, so it's better to go Yonex/Fischer, since their rackets are accurately-made without ruining your play.
